Another Concert...Secondhand Serenade

Secondhand Serenade came to Thanksgiving point on the 17th for their first concert of their tour for their new album coming out August 3rd.  I went to their concert last year at this same venue and it was pretty sweet.  This year's was great as well.  It was an outdoor concert.  It was still pretty hot when it first started, but it cooled off pretty quick once the sun finally went down.  Afterwards there was a group that got to go meet John Vesely (the main guy) and get his autograph and take pictures with him so me and Nathan snuck into the group so we could do that.  We totally pulled it off and it was awesome!  I got him to sign my hat.  :D  Runner Runner and the White Tie Affair were the bands that opened for them.  Overall this was my 5th concert this summer!  Those were Cobra Starship/3OH!3, Mayday Parade, Carrie Underwood, Lonestar, and Secondhand Serenade.  And there are still a few more that i'll be going to this summer.  I love summer!

Drew's Last Day

My little brother Andrew just left for the MTC this week.  He's serving in the Las Vegas Mission.  He flew out from St. Louis a day early so we could spend a little more time together before he went in.  I'm really glad he was able to do that.  He was set apart already so we couldn't do a whole lot, but we still had a lot of fun.  The morning that Drew went in we went out to breakfast at Denny's; it was me, Drew, and Josh.  The more me and Josh talked about the MTC and the mission the more we missed it and the more excited Drew got.  It was great to see him so stoked to be leaving on his mission.  I can't believe he is gone already!  I'm going to miss him a lot!

Lonestar Concert!

I went to my first country concert last weekend...Lonestar!  I got a random phone call from my friend Brandon saying his boss won a bunch of tickets to the Lonestar concert in Wendover, Nevada, so he invited me, Josh, and Addison to come and bring dates.  I'm not a huge fan of country music in general, but what songs I did know of Lonestar I liked.  It ended up being really fun and I had a blast. Plus it's always nice to get out of Utah.

My Birthday Party!!

I just had my birthday on the 7th and turned 24!  I was really dreading turning 24 up until about 2 weeks ago when it hit me that this new year of my life is going to be amazing.  I have so much to look forward to and just thinking about all of it got me really excited to turn 24.  Plus when I hear "24" I automatically the TV show and Jack Bauer, and that connection alone is worth being 24.  I love that show!

So for my party I decided to have a bonfire up in Provo Canyon.  There was a really good turn out.  Most of the night there about 20-25 people there.  We brought stuff for smores and my awesome cousin Brittany made me a cake and brought it up.  Most of the night we just chilled around the fire but after blowing out the candles we started to play some night games, but someone got hurt on the first round so after that we stopped. It was a very fun night though!!  And I must say that I have THE BEST FRIENDS EVER!!
my wonderful creation :D

we put my camera on long exposure mode and had a lot of fun taking pictures with the sparklers

Concert at a waterpark...best venue ever

When I found out about this concert it was the day before it happened.  I heard it on the radio but I thought I must have heard wrong because Mayday Parade was coming to perform at Raging Waters in Salt Lake.  Ever since they came out with their new album "Anywhere But Here" this band became me and Travis's new favorite so we looked up their tour schedule for the summer and it only said they would be playing at Warp Tour at the end of the summer, so when we found out about this spur of the moment concert we got very excited.  It was a gorgeous day for a water park and then the concert was in the middle of the day so we took a break for lunch and watched the band perform.  It was all acoustic and sound great!  We all had a blast.  And with my waterproof camera I was able to get some pretty cool pictures and I even snuck it on some of the water slides and took some videos.
This slide was awesome!  You had to get enough speed to clear the hump in the middle.  It started at 70ft in the air and went pretty much into a straight drop.  Way fun!
