CONCERT CRAZY!

Over the past month i've had a blast going to a couple of concerts. The first one was Mae. It was my second time seeing them in concert and they were awesome! My friends and i all decided to go with an emo theme for the concert, despite the total non-emoness of Mae. We all thought it would be pretty funny. So i went to work on my hair and made a red mohawk. It was freakishly cool.

The other concert i went to recently was Relient K. That concert was even better than the Mae Concert. There was a lot more energy and the bands that opened for Relient K were a lot better than the bands that opened for Mae. We didn't really have a theme of what to wear to this one, so we all just did our own thing. I attempted to fro my hair out and it actually didn't turn out too bad. It was really fun too because it had a springy bounce to it all night, which made head banging that much better. One of the highlights of the concert was when Relient K played a remix to The Office theme song. It was so cool! It definitely made my night.

Bachelor Party!!

Remember that TV from a couple posts ago? Well this time we came back to finish the job. :D My roommate Travis and 2 of my other friends are all getting married soon so we had a huge bachelor party for them all. We wanted to do something really fun that involved fire and explosions so we decided to burn our TV that we gutted about a month ago. We started by filling it with wood and then Travis shot it with his shotgun. Then i got the golf clubs out of my trunk and travis and i finished smashing the screen in. The video of that is below. After that we lit it up and watched it burn burn burn. It was awesome. After a while the temperature of the heat plus the top covering the TV created a vacuum for the flame and there was a constant ball of fire. It was sweet. That's what one of the videos is of. It was an amazingly fantastic night. =)

Save the Last Dance for Me

Twice every semester all the social dances classes at BYU get together and have a big dance. Each time various classes are selected to perform routines for everyone. My class performed at this most recent Dance Lab which was april 2nd. We performed a rumba to the song "save the last dance for me" by michael buble. I'm in the front in the middle. My roommates josh and travis are both in this, as well as 3 girls in my ward (laura, emily, and shawndeen). We had a lot of fun doing this and it turned out great.

This weekend i went down to Zion National Park with a group of friends. Since we don't get a spring break, we kinda made our own. We had everything planned out perfectly. The hike was going to be about an 18 mile hike down the mountain and through the canyons at Zion, but as we were driving up to the trail head at the peak we soon discovered that there was tons of snow! And it was way to much to drive through. We didn't know exactly how much further it was until the trail head, so we decided just to walk the rest of the way up the road to where the trail started. Bad idea....The road was super steep and it wasn't until about 3 miles later that we actually found the trail head. Things were going well and we were still feeling pretty optimistic, considering that we still had the entire trail left to hike. But sadly, the snow didn't go away like we were hoping it would. It was everywhere still! Most places it was a couple feet deep at least. And with every step we sank two or three inches into it. Needless to say, there was so much snow that we couldn't really tell where the trail went. We did the best we could and guessed where it was going, but several miles later we discovered that we were way off. We were also following a couple sets of footprints, and when they vanished off into the thick parts of the woods we knew we were lost. It was about 4:30 at this point and we needed to decide what to do. We had just hiked 8 miles through the snow and the last thing we wanted to do was hike all the way back. But we all agreed that it was the right thing to do. So as tired as we all were, we hiked all the way back up to where the trail started, got a hold of our friend who dropped us off, and then hiked back down past the snow line so she could pick us up. All in all we hiked 16 miles through the snow, uphill both ways. It was an adventure I will never forget. We didn't even get close to where we were trying to go and none of us were expecting any amount of snow. I didn't think Zion could be full of so many surprises. :D

Gutting the TV

So my little brother came out to visit last week during his spring break and it was way fun. We had a blast together doing random and stupid things. One of the things we did though was take apart our big screen TV. It broke a long time ago and was just sitting in our living room so we went to town on it and gutted the whole thing. With everything out of it we could fit 4 people inside! Fun stuff.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog

I just want to put a plug in for one of the most random and funniest things i've ever seen: it's called Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. I highly recommend it. I will admit though, I had no idea what to expect when i first started watching it, but as it went on it got more and more entertaining. Check it out =)
